Little Girl

One Saturday evening, while having dinner at a food court, I was amused by this little girl. I suspect she could sense that I was watching her but I don't think she knew I was filming her too.

National Day

Happy 43rd Birthday Singapore!

In celebration of our National Day, Pastor Rony Tan of Lighthouse Evangelism composed and wrote this "The Singapore Song".

Here's what he has to say about the song, "In deep gratitude to our protective and caring government all these 43 years, The Singapore Song was written in their honor. It is also specially dedicated to Mr & Mrs Lee Kuan Yew."

Lyrics:
Oh I was born on a cold and rainy morn
My mama cried as she held me, frail and small
There was no hope in her eyes
as the enemies swept by
A colony left alone to bleed and die

Oh it was hard to endure pain and tyranny
Beneath the load how we yearned to be free
Then came the day of liberty when we took our destiny
To build a nation of strong security

Singapore I hear your call
All for one and one for all I stand so tall
Now that I've finally survived
I pledge my heart and life
So in this homeland I vow to live and die

Oh we were born after the war peacefully
We've never known great suffering and poverty
But we know our fathers' sacrifice
And what they've left behind
A legacy we hold dear in our lives

Singapore We hear your call
All for one and one for all We stand so tall
Now that we've finally survived
We pledge our hearts and lives
So in this homeland we vow to live and die

Girlfriends

Girlfriend 1:
Last week, I took afternoon off to run a few errands. Was pleased that I completed them all. In the evening, I went for a seminar by dollarDex which was held in town. As I walked up the flight of stairs, I saw two ladies coming out of the lift. I recognised one of them. She's Veron. The last time I saw her was about eight years ago and since then, she's put on a little weight - which is good cos she was too thin. There was no hint of recognition in her eyes. I wasn't surprised as the Veron I knew was rather blur. Perhaps she couldn't recall who I am or did not even notice me in the first place. Anyway, if she's working in Aviva, then I'm glad that she's gone back to a place where she could apply her training.

Girlfriend 2:
A week later, I took afternoon off again. This time to catch up with Sally, an ex-classmate of mine. She's in property line and since we wanted to chat, she'd prefer we meet during off-peak hours, to avoid the crowd. We went to Sushi @99cents, a Japanese eatery located on the 4th floor of Jurong West Sports & Recreation Centre. At 3pm, we were the only customers (see pictures for proof). We had the buffet (last order was taken at 5pm). The food was nothing to boast about although Sally loved the grilled octopus. The only thing good about the place is that it's quiet in the afternoon and we could sit and chat for hours.
